Book Review

ARC Read from Macmillan Audio via Net Galley

Rating: 4 stars?

Method of reading: audiobook via the Net Galley app

Prior thoughts: No way I’m getting approved for this one. Probably too late requesting and I’ve seen this book everywhere. It looks great.

During listening thoughts: Ok this is very very spicy, the sex scenes are very detailed and its a good portion of the book, so be aware if audiobooks with descriptive sex scenes make you uncomfortable, this might not be the one for you. Once I Put headphones on and made sure I was in the proper mood, it was all good.

Full Review:

I love this book for these reasons:

This was a great escape.

The characters are on vacation, but there’s actual descriptions of the location and details on the trip, making it feel like you as a reader are on the trip with the characters

I found the beginning to be funny, hopeful, but also drastic. There was a breakup, someone quitting, and then a trip. Then there is a lot of sex. Initially, this felt slightly thrown together with too much smut.

The characters are relatable

Then about 65% in, conflict started to genuinely build up and I got stressed!

Things that could have made this a 5 star read:

A bit more plot

Elsie to be less of a mess, like yall have been friends you’re whole life it shouldn’t be surprising that you love each other just be happy
