We Set the Dark on Fire

We Set the Dark on Fire #1

Book Review

Rating: 5 stars

Method of reading: Ereader

This was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5 star read for me.

I stayed up reading it and I haven’t done that with a book in a bit (my bed time has been EARLY recently). I cried during this book, felt inspired, felt anger, and simply couldn’t put it down. I highly recommend this one and I already have the second book downloaded! There’s two in the Duology (that’s what it’s called I believe?)

We Set the Dark on Fire

When I saw this recommended to me it was marketed as similar to the Handmaid’s Tale. While I do agree with that if you need to draw similarities to something, this book is its own work of art. It’s terrifying, angering, explosive, and beautiful at the same time. I need to get these books in physical form because they are so gorgeous. There is definitely romance in the book, but the conflict and tension of the events took center stage.

I’m completely blown away by this one. Still very much processing it too. SO GOOD
