Ok so initially I actually had to put this one down about 50 pages in because I was really ill at the time and had read one too many gore books so I think I was hyper sensitive to blood and gore descriptions. In other words, the protagonist does have an injury that is described throughout the book. If this is something that will be too much for you, I think you will love the other wonderful book by Travis Baldree.
His writing style is truly something unique and beautiful. Throughout the book we follow Viv while she tries to recover from an injury. She stumbles upon a bookshop she believes to be shut down, and the rest is history. There’s a baker that has the hots for Viv. I won’t give anything else away, but I loved this book.
Travis Baldree is an audiobook narrator, video game designer, and dog parent. He lives in the PNW and I am loving his books!! Heavily recommend.
